Dick Stusso – In Heaven

I accidentaly bumped into this one online and now the same thing happened to you.

Release info: March 2, 2018 / Hardly Art Records

Dick Stusso plays the guitar like Stephen Malkmus, sings like David Bowie and writes songs like the evil brother of Mac DeMarco. He recorded his first album with a 4-Track recorder in 2015 and it was pretty good. The new one is even better, so I think he probably used at least an 8-Track device.

Hey Dick, if you read this: Let’s crack some cans one day!

Songs like “Modern Music” are really hard to describe even for carefree wannabe music journalists like me. Some call it garage folk, some call it psychedelic blues rock. I call it damn fine music that leaves you craving for more. More Dick Stusso tunes and more nights like the one when you ended up skinny-dipping with a whiskey bottle in your hand.

If you like Dick’s music, go ahead and check out Michael Nau – Some TwistCourtney Barnett & Kurt Vile – Lotta Sea Lice and the other stuff on this website. I encourage everybody to buy records directly from the artist, preferably at their next concert. In the meantime, it doesn’t hurt to use this ugly preview player:
